Opportunities from Trees Workshops - NZ Wide
The NZ Farm Forestry Association (NZFFA) is running 18 extension workshops in May and June with a target audience of landowners, or people with access to land, who are potential tree growers.
Neil Cullen, National President of the NZFFA encourages land owners to come along to hear about the opportunities to grow trees for timber, for protecting the land and for storing carbon.
Participants will also learn about the benefits of planting different species to help mitigate climate change, provide shade and shelter, reduce erosion and improve water quality. This is particularly important reflecting on the impact of erosion post cyclones in Northland, Tairawhiti and Hawkes Bay. There will be a focus on alternative species to help control erosion.
Workshops are being held in 18 locations across the country from 3-6pm. Please go to Opportunities with Trees to find out where the workshops are being held and to register.
Neil Cullen and NZFFA appreciate the support from Te Uru Rākau – New Zealand Forest Service to be able to run the workshops.
