Soil depth

Soil depth is defined as follows:

Good soil depth means good soil moisture and fertility. Where soil is deep most trees will thrive, whereas where soil is shallow or skeletal, only some trees will grow. Think about the relationship between rainfall, soil moisture-holding capacity and how deep the soil is before it becomes bedrock when selecting your soil depth.
