From Forest Health News No. 40, March 1995.
Several samples of larch (Larix decidua) received during the month of March were found to be infected with Meria laricis. This foliar fungus which causes premature needlecast is present throughout the country but is generally of little significance. The higher than usual number of samples is probably due to the warm, wet conditions experienced in some locations during late summer promoting fungal development and dispersal.
