Port environs inspections in Auckland have shown the rapid spread of Cardiaspina fiscella since first reported in Auckland in May 1996. Severe infestations are noted in Pakuranga, Western Springs, Manukau City, Auckland Airport, Puketutu Island Clevedon and on the Pupuke Golf Course, North Shore. Eucalypt species attacked are E. saligna, E. botryoides and E. grandis (others recorded in Australia are E. robusta, E. tereticornis and E. blakelyi ).
