New chrysomelid on Acacia melanoxylon

This has been identified, by Chris Reid, James Cook University, Queensland, at a cost of AU$200 (how many new introductions can we afford?), as Dicranosterna semipunctata Chapuis. It is rare in Australia (NE NSW - SE Qld) and thought to be heavily parasitised by tachinids. It has been reported as feeding on large-phyllode Acacia spp. So far only adults have been found in Auckland feeding on A.melanoxylon. They are the same size as Paropsis charybdis but shiny and toffee-brown in colour. The larvae should be light green with a globular abdomen. Eggs are laid singly - where?
